The Hometown Hoedown for Hospice will take place at Evergreen Hall on March 31. This is a country-themed fundraise for the Chilliwack Hospice Society. It is a 19 and over event and tickets are $50.
Entertainment for the night will be provided by Todd Richard and there will be food from Smoke n’ Bones. Chilliwack printing companies will no doubt be busy providing decorations for this hoedown such as Banners and Signs to get everyone in the mood for a good time. Why not get some friends and co-workers together to help raise money for this worthy cause? In terms of the workplace it would be a good morale building exercise and a way to show the public and your fellow employees that your company cares about the community. Maybe even set up an event of your own which will allow your employees to raise or donate money to the Hospice Society. You can even turn it into a contest where the person who manages to raise the most amount of money is given some sort of award or recognition.
The Chilliwack Hospice Society provides care and services for the terminally ill and their families, they “support individuals and family during the dying and grieving process.” Hospices are less clinical and sterile than hospitals; people are treated with dignity and are able to spend time with their families in a comfortable atmosphere. Such services are becoming more popular in this day and age where hospital staff are always overworked and do not have time to treat their patients with as much care as they may require, especially those with terminal illnesses.
