Get ready for spring at the Yard, Garden and Renovation show
The 10th annual Fraser Valley Yard, Garden and Renovation Show will take place at Chilliwack Heritage Park from March 23-25. Tickets are $10 for adults, $9 for seniors, $3 for youth and free for children 5 and under.
The show will feature demonstrations, speakers, presentations, the Family Fun Zone and the Big Red Barn Burner BBQ competition. The featured speaker will be Brian Minter and the event emcee is Chef Dez. This year the Family Fun Zone will feature birds of prey from the Raptor’s Ridge.
Cooks from all over North America will be coming to take part in the BBQ competition which will feature four categories; beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken and wings. 21 teams will be competing to win cash and prizes, the winning team will have the chance to compete in the Jack Daniels World Championship Invitational Barbecue competition in Tennessee. There will also be several barbecue demonstrations.
The speaker’s series will offer information on a variety of topics including:
• Planning with Amazing Annuals
• Marvelous Moss Baskets
• Attracting Hummingbirds to your Garden
• Cooking Chicken and Ribs
• BBQ Grilling Equipment
The show will be helpful to those who can’t wait to get their gardens in shape for spring. It’s been a long winter and everyone just wants to get back into their yards and cultivate a beautiful garden. There will be many experts and exhibitors in attendance at the show who will be able to offer help and advice to even the newest of gardeners; Chilliwack printing companies will have most likely provided the various exhibitors with educational literature so people can take home that help and advice.
