The Eco Market will be reopening next month and will continue in operation throughout much of the year. The market, which takes place in Sardis Park, is now open every Wednesday evening.
Local artisans, who are chosen by jury, display and sell their artworks to the public at the market. Items for sale will include handmade ceramics, home accessories, jewelry and paintings. There will also be live musical entertainment, fresh and local food for sale and vendors selling eco-friendly merchandise and promoting wellness services. Non-profit organizations can receive access to a free table to provide information to the public.
The market is a great opportunity for local artists and crafters to introduce themselves and their artwork to the community. It is also a good way for the public to be made aware of the artist talent in their midst. No doubt many of the artisans will be working with Chilliwack printing companies to prepare for the market. They might want to invest in services such as banner printing and postcard printing to draw positive attention to their artworks.
A colorful banner hung over a table can attract passers-by and Postcards can be handed out to those walking past who want one. The Postcards can have an example of artwork on the front and the artist's contact information on the back. These can then be taken home and quite possibly mailed to another person, spreading word of the artist further afield than just Chilliwack.
