Classic Chilliwack fair to return

One of British Columbia’s longest-running summer event, the Chilliwack Fair will be returning for its 153rd year this August.

This year’s Fair will feature the theme “Barnyard Bash”, and be hosted in and around historic barns. There will be rustic entertainment in the form of BCRA Rodeo competition, and a Rough Stock bullriding event on Friday night. More recent additions to the fair’s lineup has included lumberjack competitions, pig races, a “ninja” style obstacle course, and performances from the Vancouver Circus School. There will also be family activities like face painting, pony rides, and interacting with live animals through the 4-H Club exhibition. Promotional material describes the goal of the fair is:

“to bring together all types of individuals: to promote excellence in the arts, household sciences, and agriculture: and to encourage good sportsmanship in keen competition, and so much more!”

The Chilliwack Fair will also feature live performances by musicians and other performers. Headliners include platinum-selling country artist Aaron Goodwin, presented in association with the Chilliwack & District Agricultural Society. Visual artist Tommy Green will also be painting a mural live throughout the event. There will also be a marketplace of vendors including both the Fair’s agricultural roots and modern art and style. Vendors at events like this often use colourful signage and banner printing to help attract customers.

The 2025 Chilliwack Fair will take place from August 8 to 10 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.
