Chilliwack to welcome the holiday season with special parade

Chilliwack will once again be hosting an annual event that add some extra color and sparkle to the winter holiday season.

The Chilliwack Christmas Parade will see young and old alike take part by making floats and also creating entries for the Christmas Card Contest. A printer will be able to use the winning designs of a competition like this to craft Holiday Cards and more.

The public is invited to come and enjoy the parade with its floats, marching bands, and colorful lights. According to the event’s organizers, thousands are expected to be on hand to take in the festivities, and one of its goals is to bring friends and neighbors together in a spirit of fun and celebration. Santa himself will be making a special trip to the city so he can participate. Bleachers and washrooms will be set up, with covered seating for seniors and those who have mobility issues. A map of the route is available on the parade’s website to help spectators decide where they wish to watch the procession.

The Rotary Christmas Parade will be held on December 3, and all are welcome to attend this free event. More information about the its sponsors, the route and the groups, businesses and organizations that will be participating can be found on its website, as can information about the card contest.
