Chilliwack to host Pumpkinfest

Kilby Historic Site, a charitable organization, will once again be transformed in October for the spooky Halloween Pumpkinfest event.

The Kilby Historic Site is a museum dedicated to rural life. It gives guests a window into daily life of the Harrison Mills community, once a thriving town in the early 1900s. The Kilby Pumpkinfest is a family friendly event where attendees will be greeted by witches, goblins and ghosts. There will be lots of opportunities to walk around the graveyards and meet other characters too.

The site will also be decked out in various Halloween décor, helping to transform the site. Participants are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to the event and to bring a bag for trick-or-treating, as many of the historical buildings, which were originally the general store, post office and hotel of the Harrison Mills community, will be handing out treats to eventgoers. Poster printing can help promote a community event such as this one and help spread the word to the local as well as neighbouring communities.

The Kilby Pumpkinfest takes place on Saturday, October 29th. Regular adult admission is $12, senior admission is $10, admission for youth between the ages of six and 16 is $9 and children under five can enter for free. There is a family rate of $30. All proceeds of the event will go to sustaining the Kilby Historic Site.
