The Chilliwack Times and several local businesses have joined together to help make it a little bit easier for someone in the city to get around.
During the holiday season for the past 11 years, the Times has collaborated with auto dealers and neighborhood repair shops from the city to provide a fully refurbished vehicle that is in excellent working order to someone who needs one. The businesses who have agreed to partner with the project this year include Valley Toyota, Fix Auto Chilliwack, Simpson Auto, Big O Tire, HUB Barton insurance and Napa Auto Parts.
The choice of who will receive the car is based on need, and anyone who knows someone who could see a big improvement in their life by having a reliable vehicle is invited to nominate them to be this year’s recipient. The people who qualify can be either individuals or families who are having financial troubles, are a single parent, or who are coping with health problems. A printer can design and Print Banners to decorate the event when the keys to the car are presented to the recipient.
In order to recommend someone for the giveaway, all that is needed is a letter of 300 words or less that explains why the person(s) should be selected. They can be sent to Christmas Car Giveaway c/o the Chilliwack Times 45951 Trethewey Ave., Chilliwack, BC V2P 1K4, or emailed to editorial@chilliwacktimes.com with “ Car Giveaway” as the subject.
