A couple of recent commercial and industrial commendations for Chilliwack show that it is growing as a business environment.
In the 2014 Report Card from the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, the city was lauded for having low fees, a quick turnaround time for permit applications, and an excellent taxation structure.
According to the president of the Chilliwack Economic Partners Corporation, this is a “stellar report”, and one that the area has worked very hard to achieve.
The other recognition received by the city was from the Collies 2014 Lower Mainland Study, which found that the community was an affordable place for land development, cheaper than nearby Vancouver. This was largely due to the tax structure.
Both of these let potential developers know that building their next project in Chilliwack can make a lot of sense. This translates into benefits for the city in the form of increased employment, as well as the availability of more locally produced products, services, and affordable housing.
The economic spinoff benefits for current businesses are also evident. Companies that can provide services to these new developments and firms will find themselves with a whole new client base to access. One such area that will benefit is businesses that perform printing services, as they will be able to provide all the printed and promotional materials these new economic concerns will need.
