Chilliwack music fans set to enjoy new festival

The residents of Chilliwack will have the chance to enjoy a range of live entertainment and great food when a new country music event comes to the area at the end of the month.

The Chilliwack Corn and Country Music Festival will take place over Labour Day weekend, with all the proceeds going to the area’s Christmas to Remember Program.

As well as plenty of fresh corn, the festival will feature arts and crafts vendors, a beer garden, barbecue food, a Family Fun Zone, live music, and lots of games.

Corn-related activities will also be on offer, such as a contest to find the fastest husker, a blindfolded eating contest, and a toss the corn in the cooking pot game.

Musical guests expected to appear include Smith and Jones, Karen Lee Batten, and The Claim Jumpers. The Family Fun Zone will allow attendees to enjoy a train ride to check out Petey's Pumpkin Patch.

Vendors can rent spaces to sell their wares at the festival, and items offered for sale will likely include paintings, jewelry, ceramics, pottery, and clothing. Vendors are also allowed to camp on the grounds overnight.

Many of the sellers will no doubt be working with Chilliwack printing companies to prepare for the event. This could involve the use of Banners and Posters to attract new custom.

The Chilliwack Corn and Country Music Festival will take place at Fantasy Farms from August 31 to September 1. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for children; family passes are available for $24. For more information, contact Gary Moran at 604-792-3407.
