Chilliwack market to highlight local artisans

This February, Chilliwack will host a marketplace and festival designed to highlight local businesses and artisans from throughout the Okanagan Valley.

A Taste of the Valley is a two-day gathering with an emphasis on homemade or locally grown products. This includes food, art, drinks, clothing, and more. Food and drink vendors will provide samples of their goods to help entice purchases, with the goal of encouraging visitors to try new products.

Announced vendors include Super Smella Soaps and Sasquatch Trails Granola, with more businesses added based on an online application leading up to the event. Parking will be free, as will admission for children aged five and under. Art from local creators will be hanging on the walls round the marketplace area.

The event is hosted by All About Expos, which promotes similar marketplaces and festivals throughout the year. A Taste of the Valley will be the launch event for its 2023 season. Events such as these are typically promoted through methods such as social media and flyer printing, and provide an opportunity for small businesses to interact directly with a large number of potential new customers. The expo’s timing directly before Valentine’s Day could make it a popular destination for unique gifts.

A Taste of the Valley will take place on February 10 and 11 at Chilliwack Heritage Park.
