The Sardis branch of the Fraser Valley Regional Library is about to go wild, and kids from throughout the local area are invited to learn about exotic animals and how to protect them.
A representative of Urban Safari, which is a BC based animal welfare and rescue group, will be on hand to help facilitate the workshop. Offered as part of the library’s summer reading program, the kids who participate will have a chance to get up close and personal with a selection of rescued exotics, all while learning about their life cycles, how they move and interact with their environment, and also what people can do to help protect them and their wild habitats. Brochures and other handouts for an event like this can be supplied by a local printer.
The session is scheduled to run for approximately 45 minutes, and is suitable for children and their parents/caregivers. As it is a ticketed event, those who plan on having their son or daughter take part will need to get their tickets ahead of time. These can be obtained for free from the library one week before the workshop will be held.
The presentation by the Urban Safari Rescue Society has been planned for July 21 at 11:00 am. It will be held in the Sardis library, and further details can be found on its website.
