What's Happening in Chilliwack, BC…

Chilliwack invited to get shredding at local fundraiser

Shredding documents can be an important step in protecting a person’s privacy and security, and a Chilliwack fundraiser will give the public an opportunity to access this service while making sure the local food bank’s shelves are fully stocked for the winter season.

One of Shred-It’s mobile shredders will be rolling in to the south parking lot at Cottonwood Mall, and locals will be able to have up to 10 boxes of documents shredded. The process can be completed very quickly. The event will begin at 10:00 am, and the final box of documents will be run through at 2:00 pm.

While this event is free, the organizers are counting on the community to show its usual generosity when it comes to helping others. Donations of canned food and other non-perishables will be greatly appreciated, and these will be transferred to area food banks so that everyone can have nutritious food on their table. Monetary donations will also be welcome.

When planning this sort of a fundraiser, it can be important to ensure it is effectively promoted throughout the community. Print shops can prepare inexpensive advertising post cards which can be distributed to local households, tucked into shopping bags, or handed out to help make sure the public know when and where the fundraiser will be taking place.

The December Shred A Thon food and fund raising drive has been planned for December 7. Everyone is welcome to take advantage of this offer.
