Chilliwack course to create newest crop of woodland firefighters

A significant portion of the province of British Columbia is heavily forested, and wildfires tend to happen from time to time. A course that will teach what to do to keep a blaze under control is on offer in Chilliwack, and those who successfully complete the training will qualify to become basics woodland firefighters.

This short course, which will run for two days, will include both field and classroom components. The successful students will receive their B.C. Forest Services S100 Basic Fire Suppression and Safety certificate.

One then first day of the session, the group will work indoors, and this portion of the learning will take place in the boardroom at Tzeachten Sports Field. The second day will see the learners head outdoors for the field instruction. This will will be held at a location in the Chilliwack River Valley, and the students will meet at 45855 Promontory Road before they leaving for the site.

Each individual who registers for this event are asked to bring a hard hat, work gloves, high-visibility attire, writing materials, and appropriate footwear. The registration fee is $257.24, and this includes the supplies needed and also a textbook. Print shops can offer a full line of binding options that can be used to prepare items like these.
