Chilliwack Community Services (CCS) will be hosting the Tour de Chilliwack this summer, inviting bicyclists of all skill levels to take a ride through the British Columbia countryside.
The event is designed as a leisurely sightseeing experience, with different distances available ranging from 10 to 100 kilometres according to skill level and endurance. Participants will also receive a promotional T-shirt to commemorate the ride. The staging area will also include a festival zone with food trucks, a beer garden, and live music to help celebrate a successful race and make connections. This will be the 4th annual edition of the tour.
The Tour de Chilliwack will be raising money for CCS. Money will be raised through ticket sales, as well as a donation campaign for participating teams and a silent auction at the race site. CCS is a registered charity that provides services such as therapy and social support for local youth, families, and seniors. Charitable organizations often rely on events such as this for fundraising, as well as connecting with the community, using volunteer efforts and grassroots means of promotion such as poster printing. CCS also holds fundraising events such as A Boho Black Tie Affair, which occurred this April.
The 2024 Tour de Chilliwack will take place on June 8, with the ride beginning and ending on Camp River Road.
