Nature Chilliwack has put out a call to the local community and is seeking support for a special planting activity, where all help will be welcome.
The group will be marking International Day of the Forests with a tree plant, which will take place at Camp River Wildlife Area. The whole family can get in on the fun, and for the safety of all, COVID-19 prevention protocols will be put in place.
Anyone who is interested in taking part in the tree plant will need to book a time slot ahead of the date, and they are asked to indicate both a first and second choice. Everyone will need to supply their own boots and gloves, and while shovels are available, the participants may wish to bring their own. The seedings will be pre-placed in the spot where they are to be planted, and additional information about the function will be emailed out to the registrants.
Those who sign up for the activity can find the planting site by following the Signs that will be posted. Items alike these can be ordered from an area printing services company.
This hands-on celebration of International Day of the Forest will take place on March 19th, 20th and 21st. Anyone who would like to find out more is encouraged to visit the function’s Facebook listing.
