Acapella group headed to Chilliwack

This March will see one of Canada’s top acapella musical groups come to Chilliwack, as Countermeasure show off their vocal talents.

The group consists of 13 singers who work in harmony to create a full soundscape with only their vocals. Heading up the line-up is award-winning composer Aaron Jensen, with other members including Icarus Devdas and J-M Erlendson. The group performers covers of pop and jazz songs by artists like the Beatles and Cole Porter, as well as original compositions. In addition, the stage show is dramatically choreographed and managed, emphasizing the story that comes with every song. The group is touring in support of their recent studio album Guest Sessions, and will feature songs from the album.

The Chilliwack performance is part of a six-show tour of British Columbia for Countermeasure, which also includes stops in locations like White Rock and Maple Ridge. Discount tickets are available for members of the Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society, with added discounts for attendees over 55 or under 28. The show is part of the Society’s Amplified series, which aims to celebrate heartfelt music with technological support. Concerts like this typically use measures such as flyer printing and radio advertisement to help reach a wider audience.

Countermeasure will perform at the HUB International Theatre within the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on the evening of March 14.
