Burnaby gives Halloween pumpkins final hurrah
Even after Halloween will have come and gone, but Burnaby Jack O’Lanterns will be getting one last hurrah, thanks to an upcoming event.
The city’s Pumpkin Parade will put these bright orange gourds in the spotlight for a final time, and the procession will take place at the Eileen Dailly Leisure Pool & Fitness Centre. It’s scheduled for after the sun goes down, and all families are welcome to participate.
The families that save their pumpkin to bring to the event will be invited to add them to the line that will be set up, and lights will be distributed so they will illuminate the night. Everyone can admire the designs and take photos if they wish, and there's no fee being charged for this rain or shine activity. Once the function has drawn to a close, the pumpkins will be collected and composted by the city’s water management team.
Local events often provide opportunities for neighbours to come together in a spirit of fun, which may help to build strong communities. A banner printing company can prepare materials that add an even more festive touch to a special celebration.
November 1st will see Pumpkin Parade offer an evening of fun for local families, and it will begin at 5:30 pm. The festivities will continue on until 8:00 pm, and it will be set up at the corner of Albert and Willingdon.
