Burnaby event explores safety on public transit

The Metro Vancouver Transit System offers an economical and environmentally friendly way to travel throughout the area, and a Burnaby activity will provide tips and information for using it safely.

Burnaby’s City Hall will be hosting a Safety on Transit session, and it may also be accessed using the Zoom platform. It will run for one hour, and will be facilitated by the Community Engagement Team and the Metro Vancouver Transit Police.

The activity will provide practical information for those who use the West Coast Express, as well as the SeaBus, land buses and the SkyTrain system. The participants will find out how to use safety features such as emergency windows, intercoms and yellow strips, and tips for pedestrian safety in icy weather are on the agenda as well. Everyone will find out who to contact if they have a problem while using the transit system, and RSVPs for the session are being accepted in advance.

Offering members of the public the chance to sit in on a workshop or information session like this can help to keep them up to date on the goings on in their home community. A poster printing company can lend a hand with spreading to word throughout a local area.

The City of Burnaby will be running the Safety on Transit instalment of its Safe Community Series on February 20th. It will be getting started at 6:00 pm.
