Burnaby to celebrate Canada Day

The city of Burnaby will celebrate Canada Day in style with an evening of free entertainment for all.

Swangard Stadium will play host to its third annual Canada Day concert. Headlining the event will be well-known Canadian band The Trews, who will be joined by Purple Soul, which is a reggae-style band from Vancouver. Additionally, Madeline Merlo will provide a country/rock flair to the event. Following the music, the fireworks show will begin a dusk, and will wind up by 10:30 pm.

There will be opportunities for those who are interested in lending a hand with the event. Anyone who would like to volunteer their time is invited to visit the City of Burnaby - Shadbolt Centre for the Arts website to find out more.

The Swangard Stadium’s Canada Day concert, which is open to people of all ages, will take place on July 1 from 5:00pm until 10:30 pm. The facility is located 3883 Imperial Street (Kingsway & Boundary Road), and there is no charge to attend.
