Burnaby residents will soon have the opportunity to kick off the festive season and get into the holiday spirit together with their fellow community members.
Burnaby Village Museum has scheduled its annual Bright in Burnaby tree lighting ceremony, and everyone is encouraged to attend. It will mark the start of the venue’s winter holiday celebrations, and will be held at the museum, located at 6501 Deer Lake Avenue.
Members of the public can enjoy watching the switch be thrown for light of the Museum’s holiday tree and Festive Village, and the carousel will be providing rides for all. During the event, all of the monies raised through ride ticket sales will be donated to the Burnaby Christmas Bureau. To help make an even bigger impact, Concord Pacific has entered into the spirit of the season by offering to match all donations. Along with Chartwell Carlton Retirement Residence, it is a major sponsor for the occasion.
Preparing for a special community event may include ordering decor from a local banner printing company. Such companies will be able to provide various options, ranging from basic, single-use styles to products that can be reused and may be rolled up or folded flat for storage.
Bright in Burnaby will be lighting up the night on November 29th. It will officially begin at 6:30 pm.
