Tribute act bids St. Albert farewell

The Louisiana Hayride Show will be visiting St. Albert this May as part of its farewell tour, following 16 years as a popular tribute act in Western Canada.

The show will feature original members Andrea Anderson, Lori and Gil Risling and William Brookfield, along with four other longtime members and a backing band of talented musicians. Promotional material promises:

“The Louisiana Hayride Show, with amazing world class tribute artists and live band will bring you back in time to when songs were meaningful, the words were understood and the sound was pleasant.”

The group pays tribute to country and oldies rock stars ranging from Shania Twain and Loretta Lynn to Elvis Presley and Loretta Lynn. Tributes include costumes, dancing, and other performance aspects to try to convince the audience they’ve stepped back in time. The setlist also includes a bevy of other Americana standards like “Ring of Fire” and “King of the Road,”

The Show has toured across Western Canada over its existence and already hosted sold out farewell shows in British Columbia and Saskatchewan. In addition to St. Albert, the group will be hitting 7 other Alberta locations, including Red Deer and Medicine Hat. Tribute acts like this often use recognizable imagery on poster printing and other advertising to appeal to fans of the original artists.

The Louisiana Hayride Show’s farewell tour will take the stage at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert Place on May 5.
