St. Albert singers to celebrate Celtic culture

The St. Albert Singers Guild will be holding its third annual Irish Pub Night this March to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

The Guild is a group of local singers encouraging people to participate in music. The Irish Pub Night will be highlighted by North American fiddle champion Calvin Vollrath. Other performers include the Brady School of Dance, Alex Kusturok, and a chorus of performers selected from the community. The evening also includes a full dinner full of Irish staples. There will be raffles for prizes, as well as a 50-50 draw, with all funds going towards the St. Albert Singers as they enter their 36th year. The Guild hosts seasonal events throughout the year, including a popular holiday concert, and records performances for online videos.

The event will encourage people to embrace their musical side, including an open dance floor, sing-a-longs, party games, and more. Irish cultural events are a popular way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and are held around the world, recognizable by four-leafed clovers and other familiar graphic design elements. The Singers perform and meet in St. Albert and throughout the Edmonton metro area to give local talents a chance to show off their pipes.

The 2024 St. Albert Singers Irish Pub Night will be held on the evening of March 16 at Wellington Community Hall in Edmonton.
