St. Albert’s historic sites will be hosting their Heritage Harvest Festival this September, celebrating the fall with traditional family-friendly activities.
The event will allow visitors to tour St. Albert’s historic grain elevators and houses with the help of guided tours. Children can visit the petting zoo and have their face painted. The Heritage Festival will also have educational activities and games designed to showcase the history of St. Albert and surrounding areas.
The Harvest Festival will host sampler classes on crafts as part of the Alberta Culture Days initiative. These classes include Decorative Pinwheels, Metis Beading, and Pressed Flower Composition. Participants will be able to take home the crafts they have made. Events like this often use brochure printing to produce handouts to better inform and educate. Entry will be free, with donations accepted to the heritage organization.
Local artists will provide live musical entertainment throughout the afternoon. The festival is hosted in conjunction with the Art Gallery of St. Albert. The Gallery will also be hosting a number of drop-in events in September to coincide with Culture Days, including an artist-led workshop of Still the Grass Grows and a special Sketching Saturdays.
The 2025 Heritage Harvest Fest will take place on the afternoon of September 13 at St. Albert’s Historic River Lots and Grain Elevators, with admission free to all.
