Road race headed back to St. Albert

The annual St. Albert Road Race will be back this year offering a challenge for local runners.

The race offers multiple distances and routes, including the “10 miler”; a standard 10-kilometre distance; five kilometres; and a one-kilometre “fun run” for kids. The top finishers in each distance will receive awards at the end of the morning, with divisions based on gender and age group. Some local streets will be closed to become part of the running track, which will take runners along Mission Park, as well as residential streets in St. Albert. The race is presented by Active Physio Works with the help of local volunteers and sponsors. Previous editions have also included sensory activities for local children.

Road races of this type often provide special Promotional Products and other items to help commemorate the event. Participants, including children, will receive a package including a race shirt.

There will also be a high school and junior high school competition with participating school teams and clubs. The competition will use a point system, with each participant scoring points for their team based on their placement. The race in its present form has been going since 2018, with last year’s edition marking a successful return after the pandemic.

The 2023 St. Albert Road Race will begin on Tache Street on the morning of April 23.
