The performance is part of Kissel’s “The Side You’ve Never Seen” tour, aiming to provide an intimate acoustic experience. It will be his first tour of this kind, following his four-album Compass Project series. Kissel will be telling stories from his decade on the road, alongside stripped-down versions of some of his many top 10 radio hits. Kissel is known for songs like “Drink About Me”, “A Few Good Stories” and “Make a Life, not a Living”, and has been nominated for numerous Juno Awards. Promotional material emphasizes the live experience of the shows:
“Renowned for his energetic live show, fans will experience an entirely different side of Kissel as he offers a glimpse into his artistry and delivers an intimate, acoustic atmosphere that strips back the full band to highlight the craftsmanship and stories behind his music.”
With Kissel coming from nearby St. Paul, Alberta, demand has been high in St. Albert, leading to the two-night stop. This will be the final tour stop in 2024 before it resumes in Eastern Canada in March 2025. Concerts like this often invest in banner printing and radio advertisements to help let people know the artist is in town.
The 2024 Brett Kissel “The Side You’ve Never Seen” tour will appear in St. Albert at the Arden Theatre on December 12 and 13.
