Acclaimed comedian headed to St. Albert

Cult favourite comedian Aparna Nancherla will be coming to St. Albert this September for a full stand-up comedy performance.

Nancherla has been known for her stand-up appearances on late night shows as well as her appearances as an actress on shows like Search Party, BoJack Horseman and Mythic Quest. The show will be in support of Nancherla’s recent book, Unreliable Narrator, and her comedy album Just Putting It Out There. This is one of just two upcoming stops for Nancherla in Alberta, in addition to an appearance in Medicine Hat the day before. Promotional material describes the comedian:

“Aparna Nancherla is a comedian and general silly billy. Her sense of humor is dry, existential, and absurd, with notes of uncalled-for whimsy. Think a wine you didn’t order.”

The show will have an approximate running time of two hours and is part of the Arden Theatre’s comedy programming, which aims to present top local and international acts in St. Albert. It will also include visits from the CBC comedy podcast The Debaters earlier in September. Comedy events like this often feature multiple stand-up acts and use methods such as brochure printing and podcast appearances for promotion.

Aprana Nancherla will appear at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert on the evening of Friday, September 27. Tickets for the show are all-inclusive.
