What's Happening in Balcatta, WA…

Unlimited train rides available on Balcatta model railway

Those in the Balcatta area who are enthused by model trains might wish to sign up for unlimited rides on the annual public run day, with the Stirling Model Railway. This enables fans to climb aboard the miniature engines and be driven around the track. This is a popular event, often selling out ahead of time.

Offering train rides, the Stirling Model Railway is a miniature railway and also a stationary model engineering group, and is part of the Northern Districts Model Engineering Society (NDMES). Volunteer members are responsible for building all the models, which also includes traction engines. They are keen to showcase the models to the public, hence the Public Run Days. Engines are also exhibited at the Hotham Valley Open Day, the Australian Association of Live Steamers Convention and through the Australian Model Railway Association.

Useful information for visiting members of the public at events might be printed and collated by using local printing services.

The Public Run Day is taking place on 28th September, from 10am until 1.30pm. The location is Stirling Model Railway, 8 Vasto Place, Balcatta. An adult place costs $12; 17 and under places cost $6. Attendees should wear closed-in shoes and might want to bring a picnic along. It is also possible to book a pop-up gazebo for $10.
