Opportunity to tour Balcatta Meals on Wheels facility

Those living in the Balcatta area can attend a free tour of the local Meals on Wheels facility.

During the visit, there will likely be an opportunity to sample some of the food available and learn about the services that are offered, particularly pertinent to those who might need some help in the kitchen because of health reasons or infirmity. Carers of such people may also be interested in what can be offered for their loved ones.

Meals on Wheels is part of Stirling Senior Services, which also includes day clubs, social activities, carer respite and transport. The City of Stirling has an Age-Friendly Plan to ensure that all over 60s are respected, supported and celebrated and are encouraged to be a part of community life. The plan focuses on accessibility, connectivity, inclusivity, health and activity, as drawn up in the WHO Age-friendly Cities Framework, to ensure that older residents feel welcome and valued, whatever their situation.

Services that offer menu and food choices may include items such as printed Menus which can be produced by local Print shops.

Living Together: Meals on Wheels kitchen tour and tasting is taking place on Friday 10th July, from 10am until midday. The venue is 97 Delawney Street, Balcatta. This event is free to attend but should be booked ahead.
