People living in and around Balcatta can enjoy a night of dancing and live music as they celebrate Valentine’s Day in the company of the Gypsies.
Rostrata Events with Audiogenic Productions is proudly presenting the Gypsies in Balcatta. The Gypsies is an iconic band from Sri Lanka where it remains a major draw after more than fifty years. The band started as a band of brothers, and was led originally by Sunil Perera, a charismatic front man. Of the original line-up, only Piyal Perera remains, on vocals and percussion.
The band plays traditional Sri Lanka Baila as well as popular rock and pop. Constantly releasing music, they sell out at home and also tour internationally. The play list on the evening is likely to include some of their popular hits, such as Koththamalli, Ojaye and Lorenso. The concert in February is likely to be lively and colourful to appeal to an enthusiastic audience.

The Valentines Red Rose Ball with Gypsies Live 2026 is taking place on 14th February, with doors opening at 6pm. The venue is the Vasto Club, 1 Vasto Place, Balcatta. Tickets cost $100 and the dress code and theme is black and red, smart casual. This is a BYO event, with catering by KessiJ.
