People in Balcatta and throughout the State are being urged to nominate and self-nominate for the 2019 West Australian of the Year Awards.
The awards focus on outstanding individuals in specialist fields and within the community who are good at what they do and are considered great role models. The categories include sport and youth, professions, community, business, arts and culture, and Aboriginal.
Nominations for what is considered one of the state’s most prestigious awards are open to those who live or were born in WA. Michael Anghie, Celebrate WA Chairman, said the awards reveal how inspirational role models who are nominated demonstrate their exceptional qualities, adding:
“These awards celebrate the very best achievements of Western Australians, whether they have had an impact locally or further afield. Every year the quality of our award nominees is exceptional. I encourage every Western Australian to think hard about whom they know doing truly remarkable work in their field, and take a few minutes to nominate them for an award so they can receive the recognition they deserve.”
Award ceremonies often use banner printing services to help decorate the venue prior to the event.
Nominations close on March 1, and finalists will be determined in April, with winners being announced on May 31 to coincide with WA Day long weekend.
