Residents can secure a free copy of the latest calendar, which has been designed to feature local history while at the same time highlighting three major City of Stirling milestones set to occur this year. A council spokesperson said the year is a large one for celebrations, adding:
“In 2021, the City of Stirling turns 50, it will also be 60 years since the introduction of its earlier incarnation - the Shire of Perth - as well as the 150th anniversary of the formation of the Perth Road Board.”
To commemorate the area's history, the council enlisted the support of printing services to create a calendar that provides a look back through time and the special memories shared over many decades. This includes photographs of families having fun on the beach, sports teams, memorable events and even classic school photos.
To add to the beautiful images reflecting the city's past, relevant local information is listed, such as the dates of events, council meetings, waste collection, public and school holidays, as well as councillor contact details.
The free Calendars can be picked up from Westfield Innaloo, The Square Mirrabooka, Karrinyup Shopping Centre, Stirling Leisure Centres, Stirling Libraries, Works Depot and the City of Stirling Administration Centre.
