Major events that create a vibrant and happening community in Balcatta and across the City of Stirling are being encouraged through funding support on offer through the Community Arts and Events Fund (CAEF).
The funding is made available by Stirling City and supports a broad range of activities, projects and events.
Under the Flagship category, a total package worth a maximum of $50,000 is on offer for large-scale events, festivals or series that can attract good patronage and have the potential to deliver economic, social or built environment benefits to the local community. It is also open to significant cultural and arts projects and events that make a contribution to the city's arts landscape.
The second category offers a maximum package up to $20,000 for local arts events and projects that attract strong support from the community, target a diverse audience and have a broad appeal across the local area. The final category offers up to a maximum $5,000 and is aimed at smaller events and arts projects, such as small exhibitions, workshops, murals, special anniversaries and one-off celebrations.
Mayor of Stirling Mark Irwin said in-kind contributions – such as the hire of facilities managed by the city, waste management and marketing, which can often include flyer printing campaigns to advertise events – may also be included as part of the grant package.
Applications for Round Two of CAEF are now open and close on July 30, 2021.
