Fringe World festival 2019 to feature 700 shows

People from Balcatta and around the state are gearing up for a huge programme of events as part of Fringe World 2019.

According to Festival Director, Amber Hasler, tickets are already available for up to 700 shows to be held over four weeks during summer.

The annual event, which has grown to become the third largest Fringe worldwide, has become one of Perth’s most popular festivals with the variety of shows spanning 138 different venues. The usual Signs and poster printing are expected to alert Fringe followers to events across the state with many being held in Northbridge, the Perth city area and surrounding suburbs.

Hasler said the programme for 2019 was set to provide a huge array of the hilarious, the wonderful, the surprising and the heart-stopping adding:

“This year’s programme is heavy on a host of Fringe favourites that are returning after sell out seasons, plus new shows that will delight Fringe fans.”

Yagan Square is the latest hub to join the Fringe. Located between Northbridge and the City it will feature a big programme of cabaret, circus, comedy and more. The Fringe action continues outside Perth CBD with festival events being held at numerous locations including Scaborough’s Sunset Verand and the Pickled Swan in Midland.

Fringe World, which will feature artists and entertainment from throughout Australia and the world, will be held from January 18 to February 17.
