Former Doctor Who beams in for symphonic spectacular

Peter Davison, who played the role of the fifth Doctor in the television series Doctor Who, is heading to Perth.

Concert lovers from surrounding areas of Western Australia, including Osborne Park, will be able to enjoy a one-off Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular to be held at the Perth Arena.

The 2015 event follows the success of a similar show presented by Davison in 2013.

The live show will feature the West Australian Symphony Orchestra in a celebration of music from the hit BBC television series.

Davison said the impressive musical programme would be accompanied by a visit by some of the alien creatures and monsters that appeared in Doctor Who.

The popular television characters will be wandering among audience members seated in the auditorium.

Davison said the cybermen were among his favourite television monsters, although as a child they were the subject of his nightmares.

According to Davison, the evening is expected to be a spectacular theatrical experience not to be missed.

Having appeared as Doctor Who from 1982 to 1984, Davison said he has enjoyed a long and rewarding association with the show, which extended to his daughter, Georgia Moffett, playing the Doctor’s daughter in a 2008 episode.

She later married the 10th Doctor Who, David Tennant.

Flyer printing is in full swing for the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular at the Perth Arena on January 31st, 2015.
