Food and entertainment galore at 2017 Perth Royal

Chef and fresh food enthusiast Don Hancey from Osborne Park, near Balcatta, will be putting the taste of Western Australia on a platter for visitors at this year’s Perth Royal Show.

Hancey now owns Panorama Catering, which specialises in private and corporate events, and is set to serve up a selection of gold medal-winning treats in the show’s Taste WA pavilion.

Brochure printing for the show is also advertising a big line-up of free entertainment, with performances scheduled on each day of the show’s run from September 23 to 30.

A Perth Royal Show spokesperson said there will be something for everyone, adding:

“Only the Perth Royal Show could bring you an amazing array of over 55 live world class shows each and every day for free.”

Visitors to the Entertainment Theatre will see the likes of illusionist Sam Powers and celebrity speed painter Brad Blaze.

Reflecting the rural nature of the annual agricultural show, the Crack Up Sisters (who make whip cracking a funny affair) and the Leapin’ Louie (a clown armed with a lasso) will feature on the stage designed for Family Fun.

The spokesman said the eclectic mix of entertainment will also include aerialists, diving and racing pigs, stunt shows, precision driving and dancing by drones.

The Fireworks Spectacular will once again feature during the evening.
