Feedback on mountain bike plan invited

Balcatta residents are among many across Stirling City being invited to provide feedback on a plan being developed by the council that will benefit the area's mountain bikers.

The aim is to form a diverse system of trails for the activity that is enjoying ever-rising popularity among the community due to its many health benefits.

A number of bush areas and reserves have been identified as hosting trails for mountain bikes, according to Mayor of Stirling Mark Irwin, who said the council will use `Social Pinpoint', an interactive tool for mapping, for community members to share any details of locations they would like to include in the network. He added:

“Social Pinpoint is a contemporary engagement tool that allows users to capture high-level data appropriate for the community to assist with planning new strategies on what coastal assets and places people love the most."

He said the Mountain Bike Plan is set to act as a guide to developing a sustainable network of trails for mountain bike enthusiasts within Stirling City. The plan also supports an active lifestyle for all residents and follows on from other bike trail and track facilities already established, such as at Bina Parkland, MTB Facility and Dianella BMX.

Quality signage created by professional printing services ensure locals are well aware of major facilities such as these.

Community feedback on the Mountain Bike Plan must be submitted by 6 March.
