Exhibition provides showcase for talented young artists

Emerging young artists will have an opportunity to showcase their works at the 12th St. George’s Art exhibition in Perth.

The event draws participants from schools throughout Western Australia, including nearby Osborne Park, where students are only 9km away from the displayed works at Perth’s historic St. George’s Cathedral.

The transformation of the Gothic revival building into a beautiful and unique art gallery for almost a week in July provides a truly inspirational venue to host such an event.

The annual spectacle draws crowds of art lovers keen to support Perth’s talented young artists, and provides an opportunity for students to not only showcase their own artistic efforts, but also to share the experience with their peers.

Each of the artists is also able to secure a piece of memorabilia for their portfolios, with catalogue printing used to detail the works on display.

As an added bonus, the Year 12 Perspectives Exhibition of the Art Gallery of WA will also feature many of the works, providing the young artists with further exposure.

Entrants in the St. George’s art exhibition can also win prizes in the various categories, and visitors are given an opportunity to nominate their favourite artwork in the People’s Choice award. The winner will be announced when the display closes.

Artworks at this year’s exhibition, to be held from July 19th to 24th, will be available for purchase.
