Michael is known for his two very distinct painting techniques. One is brightly coloured and quirky cottages and the other is exploring the beauty of Western Australia’s coast. Michael says:
“To keep painting interesting I like to alternate between the two techniques, and to have them displayed in the newly renovated Boiler Room Gallery at the York Mill, will be both an honour and pleasure.”
The exhibition features cottages and traditional scenes of Western Australia’s coast but also includes seascapes, sunsets, rock pools and horses.
Western Australia inspires Michael and he is eager for others within the area to come and enjoy his representations and exploration of what this part of Australia has to offer. Whilst the gallery may seem a little far for those living in Perth or nearby areas such as Osborne Park, it only takes around 1 hour in the car and is definitely worth travelling for.
Art galleries like this often sell a range of products and use postcard printing featuring art so visitors can take a little bit of art home with them too.
The ‘Colors of the South Coast’ exhibition will run at The York Mill Boiler Room Gallery in York from 6th May to 29th May 2012.
