The City of Stirling held a drop in day for residents of Balcatta and other suburbs within the council area to access information relating to exciting new developments associated with the city centre project. Graphic Design Services can be used to create plans such as this.
In excess of 500 residents took advantage of the opportunity to see the plans, which are expected to start with extension works in Stephenson Avenue.
Mark Irwin, the city’s mayor, explained the move was an illustration of how Council plans to keep residents involved and up to date with its vision for Stirling. He said that building the Stephenson Avenue extension is the first part of the project, adding:
“Once complete, this will immediately relieve congestion in the area, unlock significant private and government owned land and ultimately facilitate the delivery of light rail in stage two.”
In addition, the mayor said the work will not only transform the centre into a vibrant, accessible urban centre catering for a community that is continually growing, but also assist in connecting public transport and commuters from the City onto Scarborough Beach, which is a top tourism destination.
Work on the extension is scheduled to begin later this year.
