Delegates head to Perth to discuss investment in infrastructure

Key projects destined to boost housing, development and infrastructure across Western Australia will be the focus of a major conference to be held at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, March 26-27.

Now into its fifth year, the WA Major Projects Conference is expected to attract over 350 delegates from nearby Osborne Park to Karratha in the State’s far north.

The event, which is the largest of its kind held in WA, will highlight the latest projects as well as providing progress updates on some of the $280 billion of works planned for the future.

Highly respected speakers including John Lally, Debra Burlington, Kieran Kinsella and Jeff Miller have been enlisted to appear. Senior mining, construction and government executives will also have an opportunity to network, take part in discussions and expand their knowledge on industry matters.

While the state’s economy has enjoyed a growth period for a number of years, the time for consolidation is fast approaching and experts believe investment in the resource sector is at a peak and attention should soon be directed towards production.

Based on latest statistics residential growth in WA is occurring by about 1600 people a week with a population of three million expected by 2026, half a million more than previously predicted. As a result, there is a strong need to cater for the expected growth in transport services, water, energy, health, housing and small business ranging from printing companies to major export and mining operations.
