Camera buffs from Osborne Park, Western Australia, and other suburbs within the City of Stirling are being encouraged to enter the 2014 Biennial Photographic Competition.
Held to acknowledge the community’s talented photographers, the event – which is the seventh held since its inception – is open to both professionals and amateurs.
Prizes will be offered in each category, which includes People’s Choice Award, Best Youth Photograph, Best Photograph by a Stirling Resident, Best Photograph Runner Up, and the coveted Best Photograph.
Entrants will be able to submit up to two images of their own original works taken from as early as January 2013.
The council has enlisted the assistance of Western Australian industry and educational representatives to judge entries on originality, technical skill, creativity, and composition.
The public will be given an opportunity to vote for their favourite photograph, which will win the People’s Choice Award. Voters will also have a chance to win a framed Print of the category’s winning photograph.
Once the judging is completed, a selection of images will be displayed on the council’s online gallery, and the winning photographs from each category will become part of the prestigious City Art Collection.
Local media and flyer printing is assisting in spreading the word throughout the area to ensure all intending participants have plenty of time to prepare their submissions. The closing date is September 26th at 4pm.Get a Free Quote for Print
