City libraries to sell books as part of huge Garage Sale Trail

The library at Osborne Park, Western Australia, will be taking part in a City of Stirling initiative aimed at getting more community groups, schools and residents involved in the nationwide Garage Sale Trail.

The goal of the annual Garage Sale Trail is to reduce waste going to landfill, encourage people to re-use older items, and provide an opportunity for community members to meet each other.

As part of the big day, the City of Stirling’s libraries at Osborne Park, Scarborough, Mirrabooka, Karrinyup, Inglewood and Dianella will offer Books for sale.

Organisers say there will be an eclectic mix available, and encouraged everyone to go along and rummage through a huge selection of Books on display.

Meanwhile, community members are urged to also take part in the massive Garage Sale Trail, for which families around Australia register.

It is open to all, including charities, schools, community groups and households, and can be held at homes, businesses, or at other venues.

Many Local Government Areas have begun brochure and flyer printing to remind residents that the big day is approaching once again, and a visit to the Garage Sale Trail website will also provide ideas on how to take part.

Some keen bargain hunters may also create a treasure trail of garage sales they would like to visit on the day, which is set for October 25th, to ensure they don’t miss out on anything.
