Budding entrepreneurs from West Melbourne looking for advice on how to start or grow a business can head down to the Opportunity Café event this month.
The Opportunity Café is run by INNOVIC, a not-for-profit organisation that aims to help people turn ideas into viable products and businesses. The event takes place at central Melbourne restaurant and bar Campari House in Hardware Lane, offering visitors the chance to learn in a relaxed environment.
The event will cover the main areas to think about when starting a new business with advice from people who have successfully started and run their own enterprises; including talks on identifying an idea, finding funding, and online marketing. It will also feature case studies from successful businesses such as Zilch, a website where people can give away unwanted goods for free.
There will be plenty of networking opportunities during lunch and tea breaks, so even people who do not yet have a business might like to consider business card printing in order to be able to easily swap details with other entrepreneurs or potential contacts.
There will also be several practical workshops designed to help participants develop their own ideas and begin to write a business plan and pitches for investor. At the end of the day, there will be a question and answer session where participants can also test out their pitches.
The full day workshop will be held on Friday March 22nd from 8.45am until 4pm. For more information or to book, visit the INNOVIC website.
