West Melbourne pub to present musical duo

An afternoon of live music is headed for an Irish pub based in West Melbourne this autumn, featuring a singer and guitarist.

The Drunken Poet in West Melbourne is welcoming the talented Kelly Auty to one of its popular live music nights in April. Auty will be joined by guitar player Brian Fraser for the gig, which will combine cover versions with original music. Pubs providing a soundtrack for diners and drinkers sometimes advertise using flyer printing services to create eye-catching ads.

The public house is located over the road from the suburb’s renowned Victoria Market and carries an impressive distinction. It was voted as one of world’s top 10 overseas Irish pubs by the Irish Times in a list compiled from 41 countries and 1,500 pubs, and no other venue in Australia made the cut. Its recognition has made it a popular destination for a pint of Guinness and toasted sandwich in the capital.

Originally from Melbourne, Auty is a versatile singer with a strong voice and performs blues, rock, country, gospel, French chanson, jazz and cabaret. Known in the music industry, she is also a mentor for young singers and an in-demand vocal coach.

Kelly Auty and Brian Fraser will perform at The Drunken Poet on April 27 at 4 pm. The Irish pub can be found at 65 Peel Street in West Melbourne.
