Special night on the river for West Melbourne reggae fans

The Reggae Cruise on The Yarra River will be launching next month from Docklands in Melbourne.

The popular evening cruise with smooth reggae music will be held on the Lady Cutler Showboat. The cruise will run for four hours, and will travel from Docklands to Williamstown, Port Melbourne and St Kilda Beach. Passengers will have the opportunity to watch the sunset as well as listen to music inspired by Bob Marley’s anthem ‘One Love’. DJ Zare Demus, head of marketing at Australia Reggae Radio, will be on hand to take passengers on this musical reggae journey.

The Lady Cutler Showboat is Melbourne’s largest cruise vessel and can cater for 350 passengers. The Lady Cutler was built in 1968 and was originally designed to operate as a ferry across the Sydney Harbour. The vessel performed this role for 22 years, after which time it was decommissioned, eventually beginning its cruising life in 2007 after some refurbishment. Some of this took place below the West Gate Bridge, near West Melbourne, and the Lady Cutler’s Logo Design now depicts its new role as a cruise vessel.

The Reggae Cruise on The Yarra River will take place on Saturday October 21st on the Lady Cutler Melbourne Showboat. The cruise will depart from the Docklands Harbour, 131 Harbour Esplanade, Docklands, at 6pm. Tickets cost $43.66.
