Fashionistas can get a glimpse of the latest trends at the 2013 Melbourne Spring Fashion Week, which starts at the end of the month.

While much of the focus will be on womenswear, there will still be plenty for stylish men in the audience, with a number of male-centred runway shows. Other show categories include jeans, swimwear and footwear.
For visitors who want a more hands-on experience, a series of free workshops offer the opportunity for a new hairstyle, make up tips and the chance to learn what trends will be in fashion for spring and summer. A pop-up market in City Square will also be selling pieces from a number designers, including samples and one-off items that will add some style to any wardrobe.
Budding fashion designers are likely to find plenty of inspiration, and will benefit from a series of workshops with established designers and artists. Prospective designers might like to think about using the help of a Print company to produce a portfolio of their work to show potential clients or to ask other designers for a critique.
The festival runs from Saturday August 31 to Sunday September 8 at various venues around Melbourne. For more information visit the Spring Fashion Week website.
With limited parking, visitors from West Melbourne are encouraged to use public transport to get between the event’s locations.
