Residents of greater Melbourne have a unique opportunity to get up close and personal to numerous life-like dinosaurs over the next few months.
The Melbourne Zoo, not far from West Melbourne, has reopened its gates to visitors and is hosting Dino Lab, one of the three dinosaur programmes on display at its various zoos. Melbourne Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Weribee Open Range Zoo each showcases a different dinosaur display to the public and visitors will be enthralled by the remarkably life-like creatures.
The animatronic creatures, created and designed by Erth Visual & Physical Inc., have been described as an extraordinary spectacle, educational, delightful and technically brilliant. Erth takes pride in employing some of the most talented puppet makers and creative artists and has dazzled audiences worldwide.
Dino Lab offers an opportunity for Melburnians to interact with the extinct creatures and meet the scientists who brought them back. Visitors are able to learn about how dinosaurs became extinct as they meander through the display on a self-guided tour.
Covid-19 restrictions are in place to ensure the safety of staff and visitors may need to exercise patience when viewing the display. Organisations that host events for a limited time may utilise flyer printing services to advertise the event to the local community.
The Melbourne Zoo is open daily from 9am to 5pm. Numbers are limited to 2,000 visitors per day and visitors must pre-book their tickets online prior to arrival.
