Food show coming to Melbourne this weekend

Gourmands in Melbourne are gearing up for the Good Food and Wine Show, which comes to the area this weekend.

The four-day event features the best of local food and drink and appearances by celebrity chefs to inspire visitors. The celebrity theatre event will include famous foodies such as Donna Hay, Michelle Bridges and Greg Malouf, all of whom will all be cooking live on stage and showing visitors some of their best tips and tricks for success in the kitchen.

Show-goers who prefer to taste the goods can indulge themselves in Cheese Alley, which features cheeses from across Australia, or sample of the local wine vintages with a tasting masterclass. The YUM kitchen also offers a hands-on experience with the chance to cook alongside experienced chefs.

Recipe Books are produced in the thousands by printing companies, and the show is likely to increase sales as show visitors look to recreate some of the ideas at home.

Alongside the special events, hundreds of stalls will offer everything from lamb to lunchboxes. Exhibitors include food and beverage companies with more than 300 producers on show, as well as homewares and the latest in kitchen appliances. Many exhibitors will be offering free samples and have special deals for visitors.

The show is just a short trip for West Melbourne residents, as it is being held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on the city's South Wharf.

The event runs from Friday June 7th to Monday June 10th. For more information or to book tickets, visit the Good Food and Wine Show website.
