Duncan Phillips to perform in West Melbourne this February
Scottish songwriter Duncan Phillips will be performing at the Drunken Poet on a Saturday night in February.
Duncan hails from Scalloway, a fishing village located in the Shetland Islands, in the north eastern part of Scotland. He comes from a musical family with his mum being the booker for the Shetland Folk Festival and his stepfather being a member of a blues and rock band.
Duncan’s interest in music began at the age of eight through guitar playing, which continued and led to his participation in the local music scene at 14 years of age. He started his Australian career by performing in various locations around Melbourne and for some public radio stations such as PBS and 3RRR.
Venues and organisers of musical events often turn to print shops as part of their advertising campaigns, as colourful and eye-catching posters and flyers can be created to showcase the artists playing.
The Drunken Poet is an Irish pub, which is located in close proximity to Victoria Markets on 65 Peel Street in West Melbourne. The venue has a series of weekly gigs lined up that includes live music and open mic nights. It also occasionally hosts poetry slams and trivia nights.
Duncan Phillips will be performing at The Drunken Poet on Saturday, February 22nd from 9pm to 11pm.
