Businesses prepare for Schmart Marketing
Networking events in the marketing industry are set to kick off early this year with the Schmart Marketing Conference 2012, which happens on 21 February in Melbourne and 23 February in Sydney. Marketers and businesses will flock from north, south, east and west to Melbourne, VIC, to absorb the marketing information on offer at the conference, which is subtitled 'the art of strategy, creative, social media and integration'.
It is the second year of the conference, which is to be held at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, but features sessions by marketing notables including Gruen Transfer regular Dan Gregory, Scott Stratten, author of UnMarketing, and former Eastman Kodak CMO and VP Jeffrey Hayzlett. Hayzlett was a popular speaker at the 2011 conference and is the keynote speaker for 2012.
The conference organisers, PMP Limited, state that the conference offers strategies to bridge the gap between traditional and social media. While the 2011 conference focussed on utilising social media tools for marketing, this year attendees will be advised on engagement strategies. Sessions have an emphasis on action and energy in the changing marketing environment, with the keynote address titled 'Running the Gauntlet' seemingly preparing business owners for tough times ahead.
